About me

Hi, I’m Charlotte Brierley, an accredited CBT therapist with years of NHS experience, and my approach to therapy is to understand you, your world and your values so we can get you to reach your goals in therapy.

I work in an integrative way that works with evidence-based treatments and approaches, while achieving value-led change for you. I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) because they’re evidence-based, trusted, and considered the gold standard for issues like OCD and phobias.

I’ve worked in community mental health for over 18 years, and I’ve been a qualified therapist for the past 3. I'm also a mother, a keen gardener and a sustainable florist because I love to be creative and feel most myself when my hands are working with nature and all of its benefits.

I’ve spent thousands of hours in the therapy room with people just like you seeking help, and I’ve seen what truly makes a difference for people. Starting with a strong therapeutic relationship.

How OCD Affects Daily Life - and What You Might Want Instead

OCD can look like a lot of different things: intrusive thoughts that feel impossible to ignore, rituals or routines you feel you must follow, or just a constant hum of anxiety that makes everyday life feel harder than it should be.

The goals of therapy aren’t just about reducing symptoms. They’re about helping you feel safe in your own mind and body, so you can be more present with the people you love. It’s about feeling able to relax around others without second-guessing yourself. Whether you want to focus more at work, enjoy time with your kids without distraction, or simply reclaim your evenings from compulsions, that’s what we’re working towards.
